YBS Educational tour
Early Wednesday morning, 20th July, 2022 seemed very normal. The rough brown walls, the neatly polished gate and the turquoise building of Yeriel Bracha School remained in the exact positions we had left on Tuesday. Well that's not to say we expected it to move. It's not a train, is it? But one thing was certain to moveāthe school bus!
Learners on board the school bus!!!!The sun shone in light and soft rays. It didn't look like it wanted to hurt us in anyway. Learners from grade 3 to grade 8 had laced up their boots for the educational tour to Edward Akuffo Addo Public Library. It was 11: 00 am.
Edward Akuffo Addo Public Library.
It was a very curt trip. The library was a big edifice which looked well maintained. Sparkling gravels spread on the large compound. Grown green ornaments trimmed like nails. Quiet and serene. The place looked so tidy that one could feel guilty for leaving even footprints on the floors.
We were welcomed by Mr. Emmanuel. He was going to be our guide for the tour. He introduced us to the receptionist. Aunty Brenda. She leapt away from the reception desk which hid the lower part of her body. A young fair lady wearing a black office coat over white vest. After greeting us with a hand wave and a warm smile, she briefed us on the history of the library.
We were then taken to the Processing Room where books received into the library are kept and classified. From there, we headed on through the Children's Reading Section to the Circulation Desk. This is where interested readers register as official members and affiliates of the library.

A spacious room that looked comfortable at a glance. On its interior walls were beautiful decorations in red, yellow and green, depicting the Ghana flag. A room large enough to contain over 70 people. There, we met Aunty Anita.
Learners in the conference hall
Aunty Anita is the manager of the library. Within about 30 to 45 minutes, she engaged us in an exciting discussion that wound through the importance of reading, the purpose of the library and slowly rested on the forms to fill with terms to agree to before one could become a recognised member of the library. It was almost 1:00 pm by then, and we had to be set to journey back to the school. As we walked down the stairs towards the Children's Reading Section, our sight of the colourful reading section and the enormous books that seemed to be beckoning us to their direction whet our reading appetite.
Learners engaged in exciting discussions
So we stopped there and read for a while. A moment every learner enjoyed and would like to enjoy once more.

After taking a few pictures at the library, we made our way from the library to the school. Everyone sat in their right positions in the bus. Noisy for sometime and then quite for a while. All waited on the driver to move. At the sound of the starting engine, we all took short ogling glances at the beautiful library, maybe bid it bye silently, maybe wishing we were now arriving at the library.

Aboard the bus on our way, with cheerful songs and exciting conversations, we were happily and gradually making our successful and joyous return to the school. At about 1:45, we arrived. What more can we say. Maybe, this was going to be the first of the many times we are going to visit the exquisite Edward Akuffo Addo Public Library.
